BBYM Grade 12 Program – Heritage, Innovation, and Leadership
At Birmingham-Bessemer Youth Ministries (BBYM), college readiness means more than academics. It’s about identity, purpose, and agency. The Grade 12 College Preparation module is a capstone journey, blending traditional prep with BBYM’s values of cultural heritage, ethical leadership, and community wealth building.
SAT/ACT prep, application support, essay writing, and scholarship literacy. Students build confidence and sharpen essential skills for success.
Oral history, digital portfolios, and storytelling workshops affirm identity and strengthen college applications with lived experiences.
Interactive modules on budgeting, student loans, and scholarships. Students co-create toolkits to help families make informed choices.
Elders, alumni, and community leaders provide guidance through mentoring, college visits, panels, and showcase events.
The program is not just about getting into college—it’s about preparing youth to thrive, lead, and uplift others. By merging heritage, innovation, and community, BBYM transforms college prep into a journey of self-discovery and collective empowerment.
