At Birmingham-Bessemer Youth Ministries (BBYM), college readiness means more than academics. It’s about identity, purpose, and agency. The Grade 12 College Preparation module is a capstone journey, blending traditional prep with BBYM’s values of cultural heritage, ethical leadership, and community wealth building.

🎓 Academic Readiness

SAT/ACT prep, application support, essay writing, and scholarship literacy. Students build confidence and sharpen essential skills for success.

🌍 Cultural Storytelling

Oral history, digital portfolios, and storytelling workshops affirm identity and strengthen college applications with lived experiences.

💰 Financial Literacy

Interactive modules on budgeting, student loans, and scholarships. Students co-create toolkits to help families make informed choices.

🤝 Mentorship & Community

Elders, alumni, and community leaders provide guidance through mentoring, college visits, panels, and showcase events.
